Indeed Connect
Background and problem — One of Indeed’s largest business KR of the year; my immediate team and I worked on the 100+ cross-team initiative to set up a founding strategy for the signature Indeed Connect native app. The design solutions needed to fit within expressive (marketing) and functional product touchpoints and be an extension of the Indeed Design System.
Role — I researched and defined the foundational color and collaborated with senior designers to identify the visual patterns and brandable moments throughout the MVP experience. Working directly with senior researchers, I led the design and workshops to ready the launch of the app icon stimuli test.

We needed to develop a distinctive theme within Indeed’s current design system. The primary action (CTA to “connect”), was the most important. I explored and researched different color palettes that highlighted “connect.”
We know the Indeed brand is a known and trusted partner to job seekers and our design system offers a proven track record of usable and accessible user experience. With that in mind, our focus was to ideate and define how our design system could be extended.
We tested out multiple core and expressive colors from our design system to make sure the feature could stand out but also continue inside the core Indeed experience.
We established ideas for the visual strategy that would scale into native app space without doing harm.
We curated existing design system expressions into a custom feature-based theme that designers and developers could use to further build the product’s features.
